THE NEXT WORLDSTAR℠ is an esteemed gold medal award presented every year to each finalist at the World Championships of Performing Arts signifying outstanding achievement, performance, and contribution in their respective performing arts category.

Kazakhstan’s The Next Worldstar multi-medalist instrumentalists, Domra Duo Bastauy, were welcomed home after WCOPA to massive media attention which led to popular concert performances and the release of two music videos.

A highlight of the festivities is the annual presentation of an Achievement Award to an entertainment industry celebrity or VIP.

JED MADELA became the first Filipino to win the WCOPA world grand champion title and immediately signed with Universal Records, was given his own weekly TV show, now enjoys sold-out concerts throughout the world, and has had six double platinum albums.   

ANDREW PAPAS, multi-medalist and finalist in last year’s 2012 WCOPA, journeyed home to New Zealand and linked with the Titanium Boy Band to launch their first single which went platinum.  

AMANDA BALON from Florida at age ten secured the coveted role of Annie in the national touring company. 

After capturing the top senior crown, Australia’s CHRISTIAN PATTERSON performed for a year with Cirque du Soleil, in a Las Vegas smash revue, on a popular TV “soap” series and in the internationally acclaimed film Rent. 

Multi-medalist and finalist, DIMITRI DIATCHENKO from Los Angeles catapulted his acting career in George Lucas’ Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, directed by Steven Spielberg. 

MICHAEL DAMESKI  played the role of Billy Elliot in the Australian production, in the Tony Award winning Broadway production and in the North American tour of  Billy Elliot the Musical. 

Colorado is proud of nine year old CHRIS O’NEIL whose first acting job after WCOPA was starring in New Line Cinema’s popular film Last Mimzy. 

CARL MAN from the United Kingdom left WCOPA to immediately become a featured vocalist on Royal Caribbean’s flagship Liberty of the Seas and starred in Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular. 

MONIQUE SMITH, female model medalist and finalist, graduated from Florida State University with a 4.0 grade point and is now a media analyst at CNN.  These examples are just a few of the “big dreamers” motivated and affected by their WCOPA experience!
