On July 11, 1992, what is now known as WORLDSTARS™ was initiated to fashion programs dedicated to benefiting talent.
States Griff O’Neil, founder and former Miss Universe executive:
"To create, develop and promote inventive activities and projects designed to encourage performing artists and the performing arts around the world is the continuing mission of WORLDSTARS, the esteemed advocate of world talent, headquartered in Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world.”
Its hallmark project, the annual WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF PERFORMING ARTS™ (WCOPA), was launched in 1997. And now, over a decade and half later, aspiring performers and entertainers from all over the world contend for a coveted invitation to compete at this prestigious global event for “the gold” and $400,000 USD in scholarships. Networking with top entertainment industry representatives from Hollywood, Nashville and New York gives an attendee a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience with unmatched potential opportunities.
Now, as a result of unrelenting, repeated requests from performers, coaches, industry “movers and shakers”, schools, and performing arts devotees to have a worldwide federation, the team of professionals that successfully produces the annual WCOPA is inaugurating the much-anticipated INTERNATIONAL WORLDSTARS ASSOCIATION™ (IWA), the ONLY association of its kind in the world.
