After successfully competing in the 2007 World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) representing Australia, Lonsdale got his first acting job in the film, "Razzle Dazzle". The following year, he played in one episode of the Australian television series, "All Saints".

Lonsdale's is also well known for his role as Oliver Lloyd (Ollie), a dance student, on the ABC television series "Dance Academy".

Success continued for Lonsdale who played Uriah in the second film of the Divergent trilogy, titled "The Divergent Series:Insurgent", which was released 20 March 2015. He briefly reprised the role in "The Divergent Series:Allegiant" (2016).."

In August 2015, Lonsdale was cast as "Wally West" in a series regular role on the second season of The Flash. Originally he auditioned for the role of Jefferson "Jax" Jackson.  The series is currently enjoying great success  in television on the CW Broadcasting Company.

Lonsdale is enjoying his success as an actor but is also a musician who was recently featured on Connor Franta's Common Culture.
