It is often said that behind every talented artist is a formidable team or dynamic mother! Hence why the catch phrase the Dynamic Duo rings true when referring to Nontokozo Moyo and Jessica Nyarayi Tandy the Zimbabwe National Directors.
In the past five years they have coordinated, motivated, financed and stopped at nothing to be the driving force behind their budding peforming arts daughters. These ladies have selflessly bolstered the creative triumph of others in a culture where being a critic is easier than being a celebrator.
Being nonconformists and high achievers they combined their entrepreneurial skills and passion for the arts to jointly form “African Talent Unearthed”.
“African Talent Unearthed” purpose is to look at the African child and ;
- Appreciate and
his /her various talents to global platforms that are safe and conducive for positive growth. Accordingly The World Championships Of Performing Arts(WCOPA) were identified as the perfect vehicle for such a vision through its three characteristics of
- True Global Exposure and,
Moreover as WCOPA celebrates its 20years of success the first participants of Team Zimbabwe will be gracing its world stage. Nonto and Jessica also co-founded ZiCOPA (Zimbabwe Championship of Performing Arts), a trust registered in Zimbabwe and is an implementation vehicle to drive the set vision aimed at :
- Appreciating :
talented youth performers from Zimbabwe to the world at large. In so doing to influence a performance arts culture that is not limited by lines of longitude and latitude but a global community in which the arts form part of the national narrative.
