Becoming a Medalist – The Path to Recognition
Medal winners are determined during the first round of competition based on exceptional scores. Competitors in each category and style within every age division have the opportunity to receive a prestigious Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal. This accomplishment not only celebrates their performance but also propels them toward possible advancement in subsequent rounds of the competition.
The scoring criteria are as follows:
- Gold Medal: 90 - 100 points (Superior Rating)
- Silver Medal: 80 - 89 points (Excellent Rating)
- Bronze Medal: 70 - 79 points (Good Rating)
- Fair Rating: 69 points and below
Each entry is judged on its own merit, and the highest scoring entries receive Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medals based on their scores. In cases where there are only one or two contestants in a category, a predetermined score must be achieved to earn a medal.
Scoring and Ratings – What It Takes to Win a Medal
The WCOPA judges use a rigorous scoring method to assess each contestant, ensuring that the highest quality performances are recognized.
